Vilamoura will soon have a new medical center on the edge of town. Good news for holiday visitors and property owners.

Coming in on the “dual carriage way” AKA ” Avenido Engenheiro João Meireles” it is on the corner just before the Atrium shopping centre where Banco Espirito Santo, Ali Super and the vets are, 50m before the petrol station.

The sign in the window says “Opening Shortly” we will keep watch and update ASAP

On Sunday the 12th May there will be a charity bike ride in aid of Children In Need in Algarve Portugal.

The event comprises of 3 levels to allow people of different abilities to take part 25 km, 50 km & 75 km.

Algarve Rally April 2013

The Rally takes place between 11th – 14th April 2013 with a “Ceremonial” event being held in Vilamoura Marina at 18:00 on Thursday the 11th.

18:00 – 19:00 Rally cars arrive

19:00 – Autograph session

20:00 – Ceremonial Start

The event, organized by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP), will be the fourth round of the 2013 FIA World Rally Championship, as it was this year, following Rallye Monte Carlo, Rally Sweden and Rally Mexico.

Vodafone Rally de Portugal will again be based at the Algarve Stadium in 2013 which, as in previous years, will also house the Service Park. The route will include some of the traditional stages in Baixo Alentejo and Algarve, as well as another visit to Praça do Império for the now-traditional Lisbon Super Special Stage.

Triathlon in Quarteira – Vilamoura

The Quarteira Triathlon will be held on Saturday the 6th April & Sunday the 7th April 2013. This is a major event for Elite Athletes, part of the ITU European Cup. This is only 2.5 km from Vilamoura and so handy for anyone who is holidaying or living there to watch. On Saturday the Women’s Elite will start at 13:45 and the Men’s Elite at 16:30.

On Sunday the Junior Women’s Elite will start at 08:45 and the Junior Men’s Elite at 10:00 followed by the Mixed Elite Club Championship at 11:00

The event is based in front of the Dom Jose Hotel.

The course is as follows:

Water temperature: 19-20
Number of laps: 2
swim exit between laps
Wetsuit use expected

Mostly flat with 1 short steep hill and 3 180º turns.

On Sunday 10th February 2013 Vilamoura will hold a Village market from 10:00 to 18:00.

Stalls will be held by brands such as Feitoria and Delicias, Ach Brito, Shop 11, Bli House, Five Senses Gourmet Amour and more. The Bread Boutique claims to make the best chocolate cake in the world while, Mourapão will present their famous Vilamoura cream puffs.

Another famous Portuguese product cork, will feature on Pelacor’s stall where bags, shoes, wallets and briefcases will feature.

The market is located on Avenida Tivoli in Vilamoura just 30 meters from the Norton & Mackenzie office opposite the row of banks.

Show Jumping Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2013

Vilamoura will host the major show jumping event, “The Atlantic Tour Vilamoura” over a six week period from February through to April 2013. Over 600 horses will take part on a newly created show ground near the Vilamoura Horse Riding center.

Dates are: 19th Feb – 17th March (4 weeks) & 29th March – 7th April (2 weeks)

The route to the ground is well signposted within Vilamoura but as a guide access is off roundabout Green 2 in between Victoria Boulevard and Kadoc
